Privacy Policy
1. The short version
Reelo is a video editor that runs entirely on your device.
- Your videos, photos, and audio never leave your phone. There is no Reelo server that receives or stores your media.
- All AI features — background removal, auto-captions, speech-to-text — run locally on your device. Nothing is uploaded to the cloud.
- Reelo has no user accounts. We do not know who you are.
- We do not sell your personal information and do not track you across other apps or websites.
2. Who we are
Reelo is published by Imazyn, the operator of imazyn.com. For EEA/UK users we are the data controller; for India we are the Data Fiduciary under the DPDP Act, 2023.

3. What we collect — and what we don't
3.1 Data that stays on your device
Your media, projects, working cache, voiceover recordings, and AI outputs are created and stored only on your device. We have no access to them and they are never transmitted to us or any third party.
3.2 Data we collect on our servers
Currently: none. No accounts, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers, no ads, no location, no contacts. If this ever changes, we will update this policy and the app-store disclosures, and obtain consent where the law requires, before the change takes effect.
3.3 The one network permission
The Android app declares the INTERNET permission solely so the operating system's
file providers can stream a file you pick from a cloud location (e.g. Google Drive) and for
standard connectivity checks. It is not used to upload your media or personal data to
us.
4. How we use data
All processing happens on your device to provide the features you ask for: decoding, compositing, effects, on-device AI, voiceover recording, and saving/caching your project. We do not profile you, make significant automated decisions about you, or use your content to train models on our servers.

Reelo does not request camera, location, contacts, calendar, Bluetooth, or health permissions. You can revoke any permission in system settings at any time.
6. Local storage, cache, and retention
Your projects, media, cache, and exports remain on your device until you delete them — in the app, by clearing app storage, or by uninstalling. We hold no server-side personal data and so impose no server-side retention period. See our data deletion page.
7. Third-party components
The notable third-party technologies bundled in Reelo are on-device libraries that do not transmit your data — including an on-device AI runtime (ONNX Runtime / equivalent, with IS-Net for background removal and a Whisper-family model for speech-to-text) and platform frameworks from Apple and Google. We do not embed advertising, tracking, or third-party analytics SDKs.
8. Children's privacy
Reelo is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. As we collect no server-side personal data and require no account, we do not knowingly hold any children's data. Under India's DPDP Act, we do not track, behaviourally monitor, or target advertising at children.
9. Your GDPR / UK GDPR rights (EEA & UK)
Because we hold no personal data on our servers, most rights are satisfied by design — your data is in your own hands. Legal basis: performance of a contract (providing the features you request) and/or your consent (granting a device permission, which you can withdraw anytime). You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. In practice your data lives on your device in standard files you can export or delete yourself. You may complain to your local supervisory authority.
10. Your CCPA / CPRA rights (California)
In the preceding 12 months we collected no personal information on our servers and sold and shared none. We do not sell or share your personal information. You retain the rights to know, delete, correct, and non-discrimination; your content is under your control on your device.
11. Your India DPDP Act, 2023 rights
We act as Data Fiduciary and commit to purpose limitation, data minimisation, and lawful consent. You may withdraw consent anytime via device settings. Your rights of access, correction, erasure, grievance redressal, and nomination apply; because your data stays on your device, access/correction/erasure are exercised directly by you. Contact our Grievance Officer at grievance@imazyn.com; if unsatisfied you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
12. International transfers
Because Reelo processes your content on your device, there is no international transfer of your media or personal data by us.
13. Security
We reduce risk primarily by not collecting data — the safest data is data we never hold. On the device, Reelo relies on the operating system's sandboxing and file-protection to isolate its storage. With no servers holding your personal data, there is no central database to breach.
14. Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date, and where a change expands data collection we will seek any required consent first.
